General Rules
Recommendations to the Parents
1. Parents are expected to co-operate with the school authorities by ensuring that the children observe punctuality and discipline, prepare their lessons and take an active part in the activities of the school.2. Private tuition is not encouraged. Instead, the parents are requested to give personal attention to the children and help them in their doubts as far as possible.
3. Parents should check the school calendar regularly and sign any report recorded by the teachers, and the assignments and homework given.
4. Parents/guardians are requested to be in constant touch with the school to have a clear knowledge of their ward’s progress in studies. They must by all means attend the parent-teacher meeting to consult with the teachers regarding their children.
5. Parents are not allowed to interview the teachers in the class room or in the staff-room, without the permission of the principal. Those who wish to seek information or any suggestion may do it during the Parent-Teacher meeting. Those who wish to make any complaint about their children’s education or other matters should do so to the principal, and not to the class teacher.
6. Parents/guardians shall not go to the class rooms during the school hours nor call them out of the class. In the case of any necessity they shall contact at the office.
7. When a student is likely to be absent owing to illness for a long period, the principal must be informed through an application for leave supported by Medical Certificate within a week. Failure to do so will result in the child’s name being removed from the school roll.
8. The Principal or Teacher may punish a pupil for habitual idleness, disobedience or misconduct, indiscipline, not preparing the lessons etc. by suspension or removal without assigning any reason for the action.
9. Criticism of teachers in the presence of students must be avoided. In case of legitimate complaint, the Principal must be contacted.
10. Children must be trained in self-help by encouraging them to work and study. They should be taught to keep their rooms clean and tidy, make their own beds, polish their own shoes, carry their own bags, etc. The formation of such habits in early life will inculcate in them the dignity of work, a fundamental necessary for a successful career.
11. The School authorities are not responsible for the safety of a Student after the school hours. Necessary arrangements must therefore be made to take the children home immediately after the class.
12. If through failure in wearing a school uniform, not bringing book to class, getting the signature of the Parents on remark written by teachers or on the absence record in the Handbook or not paying the fees in time, the Student is likely to be sent home during the class hours.
13. No school business will be transacted during the holidays or outside the school hours.
14. The one who signs in the admission form of the Student will be responsible for the Student and is supposed to contact the school for the Parent-Teacher meeting or for any other purpose.
Special instructions to the Students
1. Students are to maintain a high standard of good manners and general behavior.2. They should be polite and well- behaved within the school compound and outside, and nurture qualities of respect for elders and teachers, honesty and truthfulness, at all times and places
3. Students are exhorted to be orderly, neatly dressed, well-behaved at all times and co-operate in maintaining the cleanliness of the school, class room and campus.
4. Absolute silence must be observed during the general assembly and while moving to the class room and in the class room, even in the absence of teachers. During the recess students will not behave rudely or violently.
5. Students given any responsibility should undertake it dutifully and impartially in accordance with the direction of the principal or teacher deputed by him
6. Students should not write, carve scratch on the school walls or deface the school furniture
7. Respect for one's property and the school property as those belonging to them is the mark of the well-bred and responsible student. Damage of any kind to school property will be fined from the student.
8. Students must always speak in English in the school premises and maintain a high standard in their conversations
9. All students must be in possession of a copy of the school diary and prospects, which must be brought to school daily.
10. Each student is responsible of his/her things like stationary, money, clothes etc of the students. It is advisable to not keep money with them
11. Books, comics, newspapers, pictures, periodicals, transistors, mobile phones or instruments not pertaining to their daily work and not approved by the principal, must not be brought to school.
12. Articles found in the school premises are to be handed over in the office.
13. Students must not throw papers or food stuffs anywhere in the school premises, except in the bin provided for the purpose.
14. Students are not allowed to visit the staff room, unless required to do so by any teacher.
15. Students will not leave the school campus on any account during the school hours without the permission of the Principal
16. Late comers and absentees from the school will not be admitted to class without the express sanction of the Principal
17. Fines or collection of money for any purpose whatsoever shall not be made without express sanction of the Principal.
18. A collective petition or complaint will not be entertained but individual complaint will be given sympathic consideration:
19. Students are not allowed to take private tuition in any subject from any of the teaching staff.
20. Pupil suffering from contagious or infectious diseases should not attend school.
21 All boys and girls are expected take part in games, sports and other school activities in a pure team spirit and sportsman spirit.
22. Participation in inter house activities and school function is obligatory, Failure to participate in the same will be punishable as deemed fit by the Principal.
23. All students shall attend classes and other functions of the school regularly and neatly dressed in prescribed uniform. Attendance is compulsory on National Festival days.
